Another Rant About Streaming Services in Germany

A week ago I finally got out of my way and bought my first large screen LCD TV. Setting it up took me the better part of an evening. I basically had to rewire everything in my flat as I had to move my network switch to the living room considering the TV and accessories needed more switch ports than the devices in my office. They Really Want Me To Move To the US

I have been annoyed not to have access to the US market for quite some time now. First there is the multitude of video streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Here in Germany you can buy “on-demand” movies for about $6 a piece (watchable once) without even featuring the original sound. For the same amount of money you can get a hard copy from the UK. UK and US Television series are mostly not available at all in Germany.

What I Hate About Forza 4

Although I bought it on release day, only during the last weeks I got to try out the new Forza 4 release. As usual it is a great 3d car encyclopedia, featuring countless cars. But unfortunately it is not really what I would call a racing simulation. There is not feeling of immersion whatsoever. Most of the races consist of you starting pretty low on the grid (there is no qualification process) and trying to overtake everybody as fast as possible, since the race is over after three laps or so.

Newspaper Review (Die Zeit)

“Die Zeit” is a German weekly newspaper, that is “highly respected for its quality journalism” (Wikipedia). Before subscribing to it earlier this year, I occasionally bought issues of it and was very fond of some of the interviews and comments in it and so I finally decided to give it a try.
