I have been annoyed not to have access to the US market for quite some time now. First there is the multitude of video streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Here in Germany you can buy “on-demand” movies for about $6 a piece (watchable once) without even featuring the original sound. For the same amount of money you can get a hard copy from the UK. UK and US Television series are mostly not available at all in Germany. You get the feeling the “content owners” do not even really want to sell you anything. Because of this situation Amazon so far does not even bother to sell the “Kindle Fire”, neither does Google to sell the “Nexus 7” (they both only profit from the sales of content for the devices). Accordingly it’s not possible to buy anything at the “Amazon Appstore”, “Google Play Movies & TV” or “Google Play Music”, you are not even (officially) able to install the latter application on your Android device unless it comes bundled with it like the “Galaxy Nexus” does.
